CRACK BACON - How easy is that?!

To quote Ina Garten, "how easy is that?". This "crack bacon" recipe is just that! Also known as millionaire bacon, or sweet and spicy bacon, there are many versions of this recipe, but below is how I make mine.

​First things First. MAKE YOURSELF SOME COFFEE. Always the first step in every recipe I make. 

​Ingredients:

• 1 package of bacon. I like thicker cut, no-nitrates added, natural, but I'm a hippie like that ;-)
• 1/2 cup Brown Sugar. Light or Dark, doesn't matter to me!
• Cracked Pepper (pinch)
• Spices: Now here's where you can customize a bit, according to your tastes. Get creative! I usually use way less cayenne and cracked red pepper because my kids taste one bite of heat and they refuse to eat!
  • 1 tsp cayenne
  • 1tsp cracked red pepper
  • 1tsp paprika 
  • Variations: You could try 1  tsp corriandar, 1 tsp cumin, and 1 tsp cinnamon. The spice world is your oyster! 

Steps:

1. Set oven to 350*
2. Line sheet pan with aluminum foil. Then place cookie cooling rack on top of foil. This will allow bacon to cook and grease to drip down to sheet and not make bacon a soggy mess
3. Mix your brown sugar and spices in a small bowl.
4. Place a row of bacon on your cookie sheet. 
5. Spread your spices over the bacon. You can rub it in so it stays put. Then sprinkle lightly with cracked pepper.
6. Put in oven and bake for about 20-35 minutes, to your desired doneness. Keep an eye on it. All bacon and ovens are different!
